SHRIMP 4-S isotope systematics of two pyrite generations in the 3.49 Ga Dresser Formation

چکیده
The 3.49 Ga Dresser Formation has been considered to host evidence of the earliest microbes metabolising sulfur species on Earth. However, previous bulk analyses and in situ measurements conclude disparate metabolisms based opposite ΔS. This study first established generations pyrite growth, then measured multiple isotopes using Sensitive High Resolution Ion MicroProbe-Stable Isotope analyses. Two main were revealed core-rim textures isotopic compositions: ΔS-positive Generation One (G1) δS- ΔS-negative (G2). In chert-barite unit, diluted photochemical products mainly sequestered G1 barite, respectively. G2 formed via sulfide pathway with derived from sulfate reduction magmatic HS. δS-ΔS-ΔS systematics suggests an abiological origin for G1, thermochemical possible (minor) microbial G2.

Abiotic pyrite formation produces a large Fe isotope fractionation.
The iron isotope composition of sedimentary pyrite has been proposed as a potential proxy to trace microbial metabolism and the redox evolution of the oceans. We demonstrate that Fe isotope fractionation accompanies abiotic pyrite formation in the absence of Fe(II) redox change. Combined fractionation factors between Fe(II)(aq), mackinawite, and pyrite permit the generation of pyrite with Fe is...

15 صفحه اولA Study on the Generation Gap from the Religiosity Point of View(Two Generations of 50 s and 70 s)
There are lots of differences among the youth these days. The youth of today are different from the previous generation due to religiosity. This paper tries to search on the generation gap of two ones of 70s and 90s generations. The research method was qualitative and four people from the first and four from the second generation were interviewed deeply. The results show that the second one had...
